Roddy Cook, MD

Roddy Cook, MD, has been taking care of families in the Wiregrass for more than 45 years. He is a founding partner of First Med of Dothan and Ashford, which opened more than 25 years ago.

Having grown up in Rehobeth and Dothan, he came back home to take care of friends and neighbors. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in 1969. He completed his residency in family medicine at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.

Upon returning to Dothan, Dr. Cook said he was privileged to work with some of the pioneering doctors who helped make Dothan a regional health care hub today — Dr. Ben Byrd, Dr. Gordon Adkinson and Dr. Paul Flowers. Dr. Cook takes time to listen to his patients and he treats them with compassion and professionalism.
