Jerry Marsella Jr., MD


Dr. Marsella has been practicing since 1991. Formerly of Danville, Virginia, Dr. Marsella received his bachelor of science degree in biology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, and his masters of science degree in biology at Radford University, Radford, Virginia. After completing his MMSC degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Marsella served as a physician assistant in anesthesiology in Macon, Georgia. After graduating with his doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, and completing his anesthesiology internship, Dr. Marsella became fellowship trained in pain management.

Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Marsella taught junior high school science and math. In 1991, he joined Anesthesia Consultants Medical Group, P.C. and later Southeast Pain Management Center.

Dr. Marsella is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine, a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, Alabama Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Association for the Study of Pain, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia. Dr. Marsella is licensed by the states of Alabama and Florida, served as Anesthesiology Representative to the House Staff Council and Chief Resident of Anesthesiology, Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Marsella is on staff with Southeast Alabama Medical Center, the Southeast Pain Management Center and Anesthesia Consultants Medical Group, P.C.

Dr. Marsella has two sons, Ben and John, and resides in Dothan. His personal interests include skeet shooting, sailing and woodworking. Dr. Marsella and his family are members of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.
