Along with a lactation consultant SAMC employs 29 certified lactation counselors available on various shifts in the Family Birth Center and on Pediatrics to assist mothers and babies with their breastfeeding needs. The Lactation Center services include outpatient consults after discharge, weight checks, breastfeeding support group, breast pump rental and prenatal breastfeeding classes.
