Curtis Shortt, RN, has been named a Hospital Hero, one of 10 statewide, by the Alabama Hospital Association.

Curtis has been a registered nurse at SAMC for 12 years. He cares for patients in Telemetry, where he monitors the rhythms of our heart patients.

Curtis was recently selected an SAMC Hospital Hero because of his heroic contributions to healthcare. The Alabama Hospital Association agreed with our assessment, choosing Curtis as one of 10 statewide Hospital Heroes.

Curtis has muscular dystrophy (MD) and is a blood and tissue donor whose unique contributions might one day help find a cure for MD. Curtis is being honored for making a difference in the lives of our patients, his co-workers and future generations.
