SAMC is pleased to welcome Susan Esslinger to its administrative team as vice president of Marketing/Public Relations.

Esslinger comes to SAMC with almost 30 years of healthcare marketing and public relations experience. She joins the Medical Center team from Huntsville Hospital where she served as marketing director. Huntsville Hospital is Alabama's largest community-owned and governed, not-for-profit hospital system with 912 acute care beds and more than 650 physicians.

Before moving to Huntsville, Esslinger served as vice president of Public Affairs and Marketing at Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers, Ga.   

Esslinger is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism/public relations. Esslinger serves on the board of the Alabama Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society and the American Hospital Association’s Healthcare Strategy and Market Development committee. In addition, she was active in civic organizations in the Huntsville area.

Sue and her husband, Tim Esslinger, have three children. Tim Esslinger is general manager of the Equity Group in Eufaula.
