What is Urology?
Urology is a surgical subspecialty for diagnosing and treating diseases of the urinary tract, which includes the kidneys, kidney tubes, bladder, urethra, prostate, penis, and scrotum. It has been said that a urologist is to the male patient what a gynecologist is to the female patient. Urological Associates of Dothan, P.A., was formed in 1970. Beginning Nov. 1, 2013, Urological Associates became a part of Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
