About The Comfort Zone:

 

The Comfort Zone is a child care area for children with mild sicknesses or those recuperating from an illness or surgery. This program is offered to provide working parents with an option for care when their child is too sick to attend their regular day care or school program. The Comfort Zone is available to everyone in the community.

 

Registration:

 

If the child is not registered at SAMC Child Development Center or has never attended The Comfort Zone, parents should allow time to complete the application packet upon arrival.  Parents may call the Child Development Center at (334)793-8888, if they are interested in reserving a position for a sick child. The child will be triaged using symptoms or a diagnosis to determine eligibility. Children are registered on a first call, first served basis.

 

Hours of Operation:

 

6:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

 

Location:

 

Third floor of the Patient Tower (Easiest access is to park on the third floor of the Women’s Center Parking Deck)

 

Rates:

 

Children Enrolled at the Child Development Center:            $2.00 per hour

Children of SAMC Employees:                                          $3.00 per hour

All Others:                                                                    $4.00 per hour
