What is the Commission for Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA)?
COCA is the accrediting agency of the American Osteopathic Association. It’s the only accrediting agency for pre-doctoral osteopathic medical education, and is recognized by the United States Department of Education.
What does the accreditation mean?
COCA accreditation means a college or school of osteopathic medicine has appropriately identified its mission, has secured the resources necessary to accomplish that mission, shows evidence of accomplishing its mission, and demonstrates that it may be expected to continue to accomplish its mission in the future.
What is ACOM?
We use those letters to stand for the name of our proposed college, Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM).
